Hyundai S-717 is a high-quality agglomerated submerged arc welding flux (SAW flux) designed for multi-layer welding of structural and high tensile steels. It provides excellent arc stability, smooth bead appearance, and easy slag removal, making it especially suitable for thick plate welding and high heat input applications.

S-717 is an inactive, low-hydrogen flux, ensuring consistent weld metal chemistry and superior resistance to cracking. It is widely used in offshore structures, wind towers, pressure vessels, shipbuilding, and heavy fabrication.

Recommended Matching Wire: Hyundai M-12K Sub Arc Wire

Sub Arc Flux Features:
• Agglomerated, inactive SAW flux
• Excellent impact toughness at low temperatures
• Low diffusible hydrogen content
• Stable arc and uniform weld bead
• Ideal for multi-pass and thick plate welding
• Consistent mechanical properties over a wide parameter range
• Hydrogen Class: Low hydrogen (approx. 6 ml / 100 g weld metal when used with compatible wire)
• Classification: EN ISO 14174: S A AB 1

Submerged Arc Welding Applications:
• Structural steel fabrication
• Offshore platforms and marine structures
• Pressure vessels
• Wind towers
• Shipbuilding and heavy engineering

Welding Process: Submerged Arc Welding SAW
Welding Positions: Flat position (1G)
Package Size: 20kg flux

Please note, S-717 flux and M-12K wire are separate submerged arc welding consumables. They are used together as a system to achieve the specified weld metal properties but are supplied as individual products.
